Key West is the last island of the archipelago Florida Keys, a chain of coral islands and reefs in the southeastern United States, consisting of about 1700 islands and reefs. Today the city and the port of Key West is considered the main city of Monroe County. Key West has a rich history, the island was a refuge for smugglers for centuries belonged to Spain, in 1823, was bought by American, Matthew Perry, and by late 19th century became the largest city in Florida. But Key West can not be called a typical American city. You can not find the city's skyscrapers in the centre of the city. The city is a popular resort among tourists and has many exciting sightseeing. One of the major attractions of Key West is the house- museum of Ernest Hemingway. The famous writer lived on the island from 1931 to 1940. Here, Ernest Hemingway wrote "For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Snows of Kilimanjaro. Every year in July, the festival of memory Hemingway takes part here. During the excursion to Key West, you will be able to see the house-museum of Ernest Hemingway, and Little White House, the residence of former U.S. President Harry Truman, and the most" long "street of the world - starting with the Atlantic Ocean and ends at Gulf of Mexico - Duval Street with its wonderful shops and restaurants, and many other attractions of this very unique city-island. The city has a large number of deluxe and middle-ranged hotels with high quality service and friendly and polite staff. All of them provide all modern conveniences and cozy rooms.
